TVU Networks Live Streams Prestigious “Excellence in Journalism” Event
Global technology leader in live, mobile newsgathering to demonstrate IP video transmission and distribution technology
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – September 9, 2015 – The high-profile Excellence in Journalism conference, a collaborative event between the Radio Television Digital News Association, Society of Professional Journalists, and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, will conduct the first live stream of its Paul White and John F. Hogan Awards ceremony held September 19th in Orlando. The event will feature awards honoring noted journalists such as Leslie Stahl (receiving this year’s Paul White award) and Pierre Thomas (receiving the John F. Hogan award.) Both journalists will remark on their storied careers during the ceremony.
TVU Networks’ TVUPack® 8200 mobile uplink backpack transmitter will stream the entire ceremony exclusively to the RTNDA’s Ustream channel in real-time. The video will also be available for on-demand viewing on RTDNA’s website at www.rtdna.org .
As part of the company’s third year exhibiting at the Excellence in Journalism conference, TVU Networks will bring a range of its live IP video solutions to demonstrate. Among the technology on the stand will be TVU One – a live, mobile IP newsgathering HD video transmitter. TVU One is based on the same transmission resiliency, performance and sub-second latency of a full-size TVUPack backpack transmitter, but in a substantially smaller, lightweight and ultra-compact form factor. Like all TVU transmitters, TVU One uses proprietary Inverse StatMux Plus technology to transmit dependable HD video over cellular 3G/4G LTE with sub-second latency.
Another booth highlight will be the award-winning TVUPack, a portable backpack style IP newsgathering solution that enables broadcasters to capture and broadcast live HD video of interviews and events over multiple cellular, satellite, microwave, WiFi, WiMax, and BGAN connections. Using Inverse StatMux Plus technology to ensure the highest-quality signal possible, TVUPack enables organizations to broadcast live HD video from virtually any location in the world.
The TVUPack TM8200 is also available with optional integrated MIMO Microwave for challenging cellular bandwidth environments. The Multiple-In Multiple-Out antenna technology (MIMO) allows for portable and convenient set up of a localized mesh network for added transmission resiliency. With the ability to aggregate both cellular and MIMO connections, TVUPack with MIMO Microwave Mesh combines proven IP based 3G/4G LTE cellular broadcast with specially designed IP radio transmission technology that is self-forming and self-healing, meaning that it’s extremely easy to set up, and capable of responding to changing conditions.
Also appearing in the TVU booth will be TVU Anywhere, which enables broadcasters to instantly capture and transmit footage from anywhere on their small mobile device or laptop. The TVU Anywhere app uses smartphone or laptop cellular and WiFi connection to record live video and transmit to a TVU receiver or transceiver.
